During Vietnam-American War, the Ben Hai River was demarcation line between North and South Vietnam. This makes a Demilitarized Zone of five km each from the river.
However during the war, the Southern area of DMZ was one of the bloodiest battlefields.

Day 1: Hue – Khe Sanh (L, D)
Leave your hotel at 7am. Car or van ride to Khe Sanh for sightseeing en route, The Rock Pile, Darkrong Bridge, Ho Chi Minh Trail. Take lunch then visit Khe Sanh combat base, Lang Vei special forces camp, Lao Bao international border. Then transfer to Lang Cat village, wandering around village and to see daily life of Van Kieu people. Dinner with the Van Kieu people in the village. Overnight at Ethnic stilt house.
Day 2: Khe Sanh – Hue (B, L)
Option 1: Leave the village at 7am. Car ride to Truong Son National Cemetery, Vinh Moc tunnels, Doc Mieu Base, Ben Hai River. Lunch in a restaurant and drive back to Hue. End of the tour.
Option 2: Leave the village at 6am. Transfer to Aluoi by Ho Chi Minh Trail with stop for visit Pa Co, Ka Tu people and Hamburger Hill then drive back to Hue around 12pm. End of the tour.
